Silverbridge Harps GAC Notes

Seniors

The senior and B teams are continuing with their training and the seniors played Culloville in a challenge match on Saturday.  The league will be kicking off on 18th April and our first game is against Armagh Harps.

U 16

In a challenge match against Dromiskin the U 16s played a great game eventually winning by 2-18 to 1-11. The lads gave a good solid performance throughout with good defending by Conal Quinn, and excellent attacking from Niall Treanor and Eugene Burns. Eugene scored 1-7, Niall 0-6, Christopher Murphy came on as a sub and got a goal.  Other scorers were Gerard Mc Garvey 0-2, Cathal Fegan 0-2 and Fergal Campbell 0-1. Training as usual during the week.

U 10

Training for the U 10s continues each Sunday morning at 11 am and Joe has asked me to remind you that if you were born on or after 1st July 1993 you are eligible to play on the U 10 team.

U 8

The U 8 squad trains on a Sunday morning too so if there are any more youngsters who would like to learn Gaelic skills just come along at 11 am.

Ladies

The football and camogie ladies are training away and now that the evenings are a little brighter they are hoping to encourage a few former players to return.

Lotto

Winning numbers were 5, 19, 21 and 24.There was no winner on Monday night but 5 matched 3 numbers and the jackpot for 29th March will be £1700.
Monday 5th April sees a complete change to the Lotto. The choice of numbers increases to 32 with the Jackpot rising to £5000 and £200 will be divided among the match 3 winners.

Tenner a Month Club

The winner of the first monthly draw for members was Seamus Connolly Carrive Road who won a meal for two in the Lisdoo restaurant.  Should you wish to contribute to this club just contact Kieran Murphy on 30861 045 or if you have already got the mandate from Kieran and didn’t get round to letting him having it back do so now and you will be in for next month’s draw.

Auction

We have gathered in quite a few items already and we hope to have called to every house in the community by this weekend.  If, however, you have something for us that you would like removed right away just ring any of the committee members and we will arrange collection.
There will be a meeting of the auction steering committee on Tuesday night at 9 pm in the clubrooms and everyone is asked to bring a list of the items they have collected or been promised.

Resource Centre

16th April is a date for your diary. There will be a performance of the Rare Auld Times that night. This is a play whose characters are Brendan Behan and Patrick Kavanagh so it should be very entertaining.  As this month is the 40th anniversary of Brendan Behan’s death it is an appropriate time to have the play.
The Raymond Loye memorial pool competition finished on Saturday night and an enjoyable night was had by all with Pat and Donal providing the musical entertainment.
