Silverbridge Harps GAC Notes

As the football season winds down and fewer games are being played on our field we are taking the opportunity to do some timely repairs around the goalmouths.  This work will be done next Saturday (11th) from 2pm and we need as many players as possible to come along and help out. The more help we have the sooner the job will be done so if any of our members have an hour to spare please feel free to come and lend a hand.

Seniors

The seniors have just one game left to play in the league.  It is against Armagh Harps and has been arranged for Friday night (10th) in Armagh at 7-15pm.

Minors

The minors play Culloville next Sunday at 5pm in Cullyhanna in the semi-final of the league so it’s training as usual for them this week.

U 16

The U16s don’t have a game this week but they are preparing for the play-offs.  Their next match will be against Killeavy on Sunday 19th at a venue to be announced next week.

Lotto

Last week’s numbers were 6, 9, 11 and 28. There were 10 match three winners each receiving £20. The jackpot has risen to £8,000 or €12,000 for this week’s draw.

Poker Classic

The first of our satellite games will be played in the clubrooms on Saturday 25th September so make a note of that date, but I will remind you poker fans as the date draws nearer.

Quiz

Friday night 8th October will be the night we hold the first of our quizzes in the clubrooms and that gives everyone a chance to gen up on their general knowledge etc. We hope to run a league over five or six weeks just to add to the fun and generate some friendly rivalry.  There will be a small fee of £10 per table.

Peter Keeley Perpetual Trophy

We have had a great response to our invitation to teams in Armagh, Down, Louth, Monaghan, Cavan and Fermanagh to play in a senior tournament for the Peter Keeley Cup.  Our original intention was to run the tournament in October but many of the counties are way behind in their league schedules, so, by general agreement with all the teams we will wait until next March to hold the competition.

Reunion

Calling all members of the Silverbridge Harps minor teams who won the minor championships in 1984 and 1994. You are cordially invited to a reunion party in the clubrooms on Friday night 24th September and take your good ladies with you for an evening’s craic to celebrate your achievement in bringing the minor titles to the club.

Weekend Entertainment

Pat and Donal with friends will be playing at a fundraiser in the clubrooms on Friday night 10th September.

We would like to congratulate the Armagh U21 team on a fine performance in reaching the All-Ireland final and wish them success in their quest for an All-Ireland title.
