Silverbridge Harps GAC Notes

The festive season has come and is almost gone again and the short break allows us  face the challenges of a new year with renewed vigour. Our industrious Social committee are to be congratulated for a wonderful New Year’s Eve party at which everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This committee works hard all year organising entertainment and functions and are ever willing to give of their time and effort to ensure everything runs smoothly, and in the morning when everyone else is relaxing they return to tidy up and leave things ready for the next event. Well done ladies and gentlemen.

Concern

The Boxing night dance was very successful and £800 was raised for Concern. The organisers wish to express their gratitude to all who came and to everyone who made a contribution.

Little did they know when they decided to name Concern their charity of the season that there would soon be an overwhelming need for aid for another natural disaster. As images of the terrible events in Asia have been broadcast Irish people and the local communities in particular have responded generously and quickly and I am sure will continue to help in what way they can.

Seniors

The senior team managers request all members of the senior panel to be at the clubrooms next Sunday morning (9th January) at 8 30 am sharp.

Ladies Football

The Armagh Ladies County Board is hosting a presentations evening in the Carrickdale Hotel this Friday night 7th January at 8 pm. Tickets are available from Kieran Murphy for anyone, player or supporter, who wishes to attend.

Lotto

The Lotto draw did not take place last week because of the Christmas break. The winning formula the previous week was 6, 11, 16 and 24.  As well as the match three winners there were four £100 and eight £50 prizewinners that night. The jackpot for this week’s draw is £11,200 or €16,800 and would be a great way to clear those Christmas debts so make sure you have done your numbers.

Meetings

There will be a meeting of the Management Executive tonight (Tuesday 4th January) at 9 pm and all committee members should attend.

AGM

All members please note that our AGM will be held next Tuesday night 11th January in the club. There will be a Mass first for deceased members at 7 30 pm, after which proceedings will begin. As this is the occasion when we plan the club’s direction for the next year it is of the utmost importance that all members attend so please take this notice as an open invitation to you all.

Tenner a Month club

Bernadette McVerry was the December winner of the meal for two for members of this club. This venture is realising a steady income into our field development fund but we can cater for more members. Should you feel you could donate £10 per month please contact Kieran on 30 861 045 and he will make the necessary arrangements.
