Seniors

The senior team came close to pulling off a win against a strong Carrickcruppen side on Wednesday night, but lost by one point in a high-scoring match.
The game was played under lights on our new pitch on a crisp autumn night and the large crowd in attendance were well entertained for the hour of the game.
The Bridge were stronger in the first half and went in at the break two points ahead, having conceded a penalty, with forwards Cormac McAvoy (1-2), Brendan McGuire (0-2), Eugene Byrne (0-1) and Damian McCann (0-1) gathering the scores.
The second half did not quite go to plan as the Bridge put another five points on the scoreboard but conceded a goal and saw Cruppen eat into their lead to eventually win the game. The Bridge backs played well as usual, with outstanding performances throughout from Anthony Mallie and Stefan Murphy turning the ball around and moving it out of the danger zone. The final score was 2-9 to 1-11.
The team fared much better on Sunday afternoon when the opposition was Granemore. The lads had home advantage and dominated from the start. They scored 2-4 in the first half and had at least two other goal opportunities to lead by eight points at the break.
Granemore started the second half with three points but the Bridge men soon upped their game, with one shot at goal forced across the bar by the Granemore keeper and the next in the back of the net. Although the visitors refused to give up and picked off their scores as the opportunity arose the Bridge team got some fine scores and held on to their considerable lead to the end. This was a good team effort with each man doing what was needed. The final score was 3-11 to 0-8.
