The Senior Team played Whitecross in Keeley Park Friday evening last. It was Whitecross who registered the first three points before the bridge got on the scoreboard with points from L Campbell, B Bellew and G McGarvey. It was point for point after that until an L Campbell pass to B Byrne which ended up in Whitecross net. Another point from Campbell left the half time score 1-5 to 0-7 in favour of the bridge. The bridge got off to a good start in the second half a high ball in from McCreesh flicked to the net by A Crummey left the bridge leading by five points a quick reply by Whitecross left the defecated to two. Silverbridge increased their score line by two points before a Whitecross goal in the seventeenth minute, it was all to play for in the last thirteen minutes with a goal and a point for the bridge and two more points for Whitecross leaving the full time score Silverbridge 3-8 Whitecross 1-11 this was a good win, both teams lost a lot of possession but good performances on the day from G McGarvey, B Bellew, and A Mallie. We wish a speedy recovery to Cathal McSherry from Whitecross who was detained over night in hospital after a bad fall on the ground. Next Weeks match is away to Sarsfields on Thursday evening.B Team
Silverbridge B Team ran out easy winners in this Championship match against Killeavey on Wednesday night last. Killeavey drew first blood with a fine point from the throw in. Silverbridge made a quick reply and piled on the pressure from midfield area with Jarlath Burns excelling giving the forwards ample supply of the ball. Our forwards converted many fine scores, with A Crummey topping the bill with a personal tally of two goals and two points in the first half he was ably assisted by B Maguire, T Mallie and R Griffin. Silverbridge led at half-time on a score line of 3-9 to 0-3. Our team added a further seven points whilst Killeavey replied with a further four points. This was a very convincing win and no doubt tougher games lie ahead.Minors
The Minors had an away match to Mullabawn on Monday evening last two evenly match teams played out an exciting draw. Some good performances on the night next week match are against Crossmaglen.Under 16s
Our under 16s played Carrickcruppen at home on Thursday evening last, this was a very good all round team performance with some nice scores from our forwards and our backs keeping a tight reign silverbridge ran out winners with a score line of 2-9 to 1-4.Under 14
Silverbridge U14 team were beaten by Carrickcruppen in the Semi Final of the Shield competition in Killeavy on Tuesday night last. This was a good game, played out in great conditions, with both teams dominating the game at different spells throughout the first half and with little to separate the teams at half time Silverbridge fought very hard in the second half and were unlucky with a few goal bound efforts late in the game. The Under 12 boys had a busy week this week with two matches, Shane O Neills at home on Tuesday followed by St Pats away on Saturday. While both matches ended in defeat there were good performances on both days. This is a young team with lots of potential and has a bright future ahead.Under 16 Girls
The under 16 girls were away this week to Carrickcruppen and started well, they led for the first 20 minutes but Cruppen came back and took the lead to go in at half time with a score line of 2-3 to 1-8. The Cruppen girls started the second half strong with an early goal stretching their lead further. The bridge girls battled hard and came back to leave just a goal between the sides as time ran out. Well done to all the girls this was a great team performance.U12 Girls
The girls showed their skills and team work off this evening in a trilling game against a strong Dromintee side, a close encounter of both halves added to the excitement with the Bridge girls winning out in the end. Well done Girls. Match against Carrickcruppen away on Wednesday evening, everyone to be at the Club for 6.10 .Next Sunday Football training for U10s, U8s, and U6s will be called off due to Armagh playing in the Championship football training will resume Sunday the 22nd June.Under 8s
