Senior Team
Silverbridge qualified for the next round of the Intermediate Championship with a six point victory over St. Pauls in excellent playing conditions at Abbey Park Saturday evening last. St Pauls were first on the scoreboard with a point from the throw in an although Silverbridge enjoyed the lions share of possession in the first half they failed to penetrate a tight St Pauls defence, on the other hand St Pauls were much more economical with their attack and by half time were leading 1-5 to 6 points their goal coming from a well taken penalty. The Bridge started the second half in fine form and scored four unanswered points although St Pauls pulled one back in the 12th minute of the half this proved to be their last score of the game as Silverbridge controlled the game from there on in. Final score Silverbridge 0-15 St Pauls 1-6 next weeks match is against Ballymacnab at home on Sunday.
B Team
Silverbridge played host to Granemore on Wednesday night last. During the first half they failed to compete with the running of the Granemore side and were eleven points behind at halftime on a score line of Granemore 3-4 to 0-2. The Silverbridge management team made dramatic changes at the interval substuting four players and taking Jarlath Burns out from full forward to midfield to partner Fergal Campbell. Immediately these changes started to show, scores started to come and Granemore found it hard to by-pass the mid field area. Silverbridge plugged away with points to peg back the score line and in the last five minutes managed to score two superb goals via Thomas McKenna and Fergal Campbell to finish winners by one point.
