Senior
Our Senior Team traveled to Lurgan to take on Clan Eireann in the search of two more league points. The game started in mid torrential down pours which seemed to have affected our players as by the tenth minute Clan Eireann had two points on the board and were the more composed team in the conditions. A B Bellew point seemed to settle the Bridge and as the sun began to shine the Bridge started to play with more purpose. A couple of N Traynor pointed frees were followed by a fine individual effort from F Campbell to leave Silverbridge four ahead. Nial pointed another free as the half ended we scored another two fine points to leave the half time score 0-7 to 0-2 in favour of the Bridge. On the resumption Clan Eireann started like they did in the first half and went on a scoring spree in the first 10 minutes with a four point barrage to leave one in it. Against the run of play the Bridge got on the scoreboard only for Clan Eireann to come back with a point. With the game now in the balance the Bridge took control of proceedings and scored four unanswered points to take a commanding lead as time was running out. Clan Eireann did pull two points back in the dying moments but it was not enough and Silverbridge ran out winners on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-9 next weeks match is at home to Granemore.
B
Our B team traveled the short journey to Crossmaglen on Wednesday night last to play in this top of the table clash. The weather was atrocious to say the least with heavy rainfall plus thunder and lightning. Silverbridge were first to settle down and put three points on the score sheet before Crossmaglen scored a point. After this our team scored two goals in succession one by Colm Traynor and the other from Frank Symth. Colm added further points along with A.Crummy and T.Mallie to bring the half time score to Silverbridge 2-5 Rangers 0-2. Silverbridge defended strongly scoring a further four points whilst Rangers added a goal and three points. This was a very sporting game played in poor conditions. With only one game to go our team top the table and look forward to the next match.
