La nNa gClub
There was a great hive of activity going on all weekend around the club in celebration of the 125 anniversary of the GAA. The Folk Mass officially opened the programme on Friday night which was followed by the Silverbridge Rose. The Cic Fhada and Recreational football was a great success on Saturday and it was great to see a lot of the retired players coming back and joining forces with the ladies to make it a very entertaining game. The main event took place on Sunday when the Artane Boys Band headed the parade from Daly Park to the football field. The fine weather added to the atmosphere and gave everyone an opportunity to take part. The hundreds who turned up for the parade was a true reflection of how important Silverbridge GAC is in the community and how it extends its hospitality to everyone in the area.
The exhibition of past times in Silverbridge proved to be a great success so much so that it will be open every night next week from 7 - 10pm to give everyone an opportunity to view it. A special word of thanks must go to all those who helped to put together the events for the weekend and for everyone who helped out throughout the weekend to make it such a success, especially the residents of Daly Park and Moylinn Close who put a lot of work in last week to decorate and tidy the parks. It would be impossible to mention everyone individually but a great big THANKS to everyone.
