Senior Team

The game against Whitecross which was to be played on Friday night has been rescheduled for Wednesday 10 June in the Bridge at 7.30pm.

Camogie

Plans are under way to organise underage Camogie in the club. If you have a child who would like to play camogie contact any committee member for details.

It is hoped that there will be a good interest in this sport as it is another great outlet for the girls.

Gaelic Start

Gaelic Go Start resumes 14th June with equipment set up at 10.00am, activities commencing 10.50am. Children should bring drink's and dress appropriately for weather if outside. As there has been noticeable success in the children's Agility, Balance and Co-ordination (ABC'S) along with enjoyment, parent's help and support is needed continually for Gaelic Go Start to work effectively. So all parent's need to be involved towards a sharing commitment. Playing towards a healthy future.

Sympathy

The club would like to offer its deepest sympathy to Owenie Donaghy and his daughter Briege and to the Traynor families Cornonagh on the death of Bridie during the week. Bridie was a great supporter of the club and until recently she attended every match. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. May she Rest in Peace.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Peter Carragher who was on the winning Armagh Minor team who beat Tyrone las week and also to another club man Paul Mc Shane, Manager of the Armagh Minor team. Well Done to you both and good luck in the next round against Monaghan.

The U14's are taking part in the Kildare Feile Peil na Og in July and the club are holding a fund raising weekend 19 and 20 June to support all those taking part in the Feile. There will be a "Schools Out Disco" on Friday 19 from 9-11.30pm. This is strictly for 11-14 year olds and the admission fee is £5.00.

On Saturday 20 June there is a dance in the Social Club with music by "Woody" followed by a disco. Light refreshments will be provided on the night and admission fee is £5. There are some tickets available but admission can be paid at the door on the night. It is a great achievement for the U 14's and their managers to get to this Feile and it is important that people support this night.

 "The Bridge's got Talent".

A wonderful evening's entertainment was provided by our youth club members at 'The Bridges Got Talent' Show last Friday in the Resource Centre in aid of the charity Friends for Children. 13 acts participated which included singers, dancers, traditional musicians and Irish dancers. All those in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the show which was a display of the great talent from the young people in the area. The three judges had the hard task on deciding on the eventual winners; with Moya Strain (Solo Singing) emerging as the winner on the night, Ryan Mc Keown (Irish Dancing) came second and third prize was jointly awarded to Glitz & Glam (Dancing) and The Trio Group (Traditional Music). The Youth Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all the young people who participated on the night and to everyone who attended the show or bought tickets. Many thanks also to the three judges on the night Denis Mc Groon - Chairman of Friends for Children, Rosie Carey - SELB Senior Youth Worker, South Armagh and Kieran Faughey.

A cheque was presented to Denis Mc Groon Chairman of Friends for Children on the night by members of the Youth Club and leaders Clare Faughey, Lizzy Smyth and Mairead Kelly. The money was raised from a youth club disco held earlier in the year and also from the Talent Show on Friday night.

A special presentation was also made to Anne Martin who stepped down from her role as Chairperson of the youth club last year. A token of appreciation was presented to Anne by youth club leaders Clare Faughey, Lizzy Smyth and Mairead Kelly.
