Senior Team

The Senior team played two matches at home last week and were beaten by Whitecross on Wednesday night and Granemore on Sunday. They tried hard on both occassions but just hadn't got the scoring capability to make an impression on the opposition.

Camogie

Plans are under way to organise underage Camogie in the club. If you have a child who would like to play camogie contact any committee member for details.

It is hoped that there will be a good interest in this sport as it is another great outlet for the girls.

Under 14 Boys

On Tuesday night our U14's travelled to Dromintee to take on Killeavy in the semi-final of the Championship.
The Boys got off to the worst possible start by conceding a penalty after just 30 seconds, which give Killeavy a great boost as they added a further three goals and led at one stage by 4-3 to 0-3. To their credit the Bridge boys got themselves back into the game and the teams went in level at half time.
In the second half the boys put in a much improved team performance and although Killeavy ensured that the contest was not over till the very end, the Bridge boys got enough scores to secure a win by 4 points.
Both teams played some excellant football in this very exciting contest, which they must be commended for.

The team now progress to the final were they will play Dromintee.

Underage Girls

The Underage girls team led by Celia Walsh and Kyra Scullion played their first ever competitive match against Stewartstown GAC in Silverbridge on Saturday. There was great excitement from all the young girls, many of them up ready from early morning for the match which kicked off at 1.30. The visitors played a hard game of football but the Bridge girls were more than capable of taking their scores when it mattered. However their efforts were just short of claiming a victory and the visitors came out tops. There were some refreshments for the teams afterwards with a presentation to the winners and losers , something which no doubt will be treasured by all those who took part. Credit must be given to Ceila and Kyra for organising the match and for giving the girls a day to remember. A special word of thanks to the girls and their managers who travelled from Stewartstown, without them it wouldn't have been possible.

Gaelic Start

Gaelic Go Start continues Sunday 21 June, activities to be set up at 10.00am and children to be there at 10.45 for a 11.00am start.. There are normally 20 activity stations to be manned by parents and the programme can not start until there are enough parents to look after each station. We would urge parents and children to arrive on time so that each activity can be allocated to a parent. These activities are well worth pursuing as they help to build children's confidence and ability which is improving from week to week. Please bring along some drinks and appropriate clothes for the weather. Once again we would urge more parents to come along at 10.00 to help set up and support the children in this worth while venture.

Sympathy

The club would like to offer its deepest sympathy to the Lowry family on the recent death of their father Patsy RIP formely of Cornonagh.

U 14 Feile Fund raising weekend

The U14's are taking part in the Kildare Feile Peil na Og in July and the club are holding a fund raising weekend 19 and 20 June to support all those taking part in the Feile. There will be a "Schools Out Disco" on Friday 19 from 9-11.30pm. This is strictly for 11-14 year olds and the admission fee is £5.00.

On Saturday 20 June there is a dance in the Social Club with music by "Woody" followed by a disco. Light refreshments will be provided on the night and admission fee is £5. There are some tickets available but admission can be paid at the door on the night. It is a great achievement for the U 14's and their managers to get to this Feile and it is important that people support this night.

"No Direction"

Christopher Rowland and Paudie Burns aka "No Direction" have reached the 2nd stage of North Easts' Got Talent. This is a great acheivement for the boys who will be performing on Friday 19 June in the Fiddlers Elbow in Carrickmacross. This winner of this round will be chosen by public vote and the boys would appreciate as much support as possible to help them get through this stage. So if you're free on Friday night and are looking for a good nights entertainment why not go along to the Fiddlers Elbow and give the lads your number one vote!!!! Best of Luck Christopher and Paudie from all in Silverbridge GAC.
