The next game is against Tir Na nOg on Wednesday 1 July at 7.30 in the Bridge.
Gaelic Start
Gaelic Go Start is cancelled on Sunday 5 July due to the Under 14's taking part in Feile Peil Na nOg in Kildare, it will resume again on Sunday 12 July as usual. Once again we would urge that everyone is there for 10.45 and as many parents as possible are available to help look after the activity stations. These activities are well worth pursuing as they help to build children's confidence and ability which is improving from week to week. Please bring along some drinks and appropriate clothes for the weather.
U 14 Feile Peil Na nOg 2009
The Silverbridge U14 Team are making the journey to Kildare on 3 July 2009 to take part in Feile Peil Na nOg. This a momentous event for the boys who have successfully beaten off stiff opposition throughout the county. They will now go on to represent County Armagh in one of the most major festivals of football for the Youth of Ireland. This is a great achievement for the boys and their managers Gerry Smyth and Joe Crawley who have shown great commitment and dedication throughout the competition.
The journey began in March when the boys beat St Brigids 6-17 to 3-06, they went on to beat Shane O Neills 3-7 to 0-7 in the South Armagh Semi Final and then Dromintee in the Final in a very high scoring game 6-09 to 5-10. They then went on to beat Pearse Og in the Armagh County Semi 3-12 to 1-6 and Grange in the Final 3-12 to 2-7.
The boys have shown great pride and commitment to their club and managers to reach this occassion which will no doubt be etched in their memories forever.
The Bridge will play their first game of the competition on Friday 3 July against St Kevins at 3.00pm. Then on Saturday morning they will meet Castledermot at 10.15 and St Peters of Meath at 12.30 with the Final taking place on Sunday 5 July.
As with all competitions there was a lot of background work to be carried out and without the help of bus drivers, umpires, linesmen, sponsors and parents who organised fund raising events it would not have been possible to get to this stage. A huge Thanks to all involved.
We wish the boys and their Managers the very best of Good Luck and a safe journey for the weekend ahead and hope that they return to the Bridge as Feile Champions.
