Senior Team

Silverbridge 1-13 Clonmore 0-13

The Seniors played met Clonmore in the first round of the Intermediate Championship on Friday evening in Granemore. The conditions were very slippy which made the game all the more difficult to control. The Bridge started off by scoring two points in quick succession minutes into the first half with Clonmore quickly retaliating with a point. This pattern continued throughout the first half until Aidan Hearty scored the only goal of the game. There was a lot of confusion in Clonmore's goal mouth which gave Aidan the opportunity to take his chance for goal. The score of 1-7 to 0-8 points at half time was a lead which the Bridge managed to maintain throughout. The second half was more hard hitting with the Bridge showing a bit more determination in trying to maintain the lead scoring four points without reply from Clonmore. The last two points however were scored by Clonmore and even with a free awarded in front of the Bridge goal in the last minute in the last minute of the game they were unable to bridge the three point gap.

Team: C Crummie, C Reel, P Hughes, A Mallie, C Lambe, P Reel, S Murphy (0-1), R Hamill, A Hearty (1-1), P Cumiskey, C McAvoy (0-1), B Burns (0-4), B Bellew (0-1), L Campbell (0-5), E Burns. Subs used: N Quinn, R Griffin and C Lambe.
