Senior Team

Silverbridge 1-11 St Michaels 2-9

The Bridge led by 0-6 to no score after twenty minutes into the game with three points from Eugene Byrne and one each from Ruari Griffin, Liam Campbell and Cormac Mc Avoy. St Michaels then stepped up a gear and scored three points before the excellent Eugene Byrne took a pass from Cormac Mc Avoy to finish to the net. St Michaels got the last score of the half to leave the half time score 1-7 to 0-4 in favour of the Bridge. The game turned in favour of the Newtown men within five minutes of the second half when they hit the back of the Bridge net twice in the space of a minute. Another point put them in the lead for the first time and left Silverbridge doing the chasing from there to the finish. Points from Ruari Griffin and Brendan Bellew kept the Bridge in touch as did a great save from keeper Brendan Cumiskey before Eugene Byrne levelled the scores with three minutes to go. Deep into injury time Newtown got the all important point to give them victory at the end of a very entertaining game

Team: B Cumiskey, C Reel, P Hughes, A Mallie, C Lambe, S Murphy , B Bellew (0-1), R Hamill, A Hearty, P Cumiskey, C McAvoy (0-2) , B Byrne (0-1), L Campbell (0-1), R Griffin(0-2), and E Byrne (1-5). Subs used: R Murchan, K Conlon and J Burns.

Senior Girls

The Senior girls were beaten by Eire Og in Lurgan on Saturday evening. The Eire Og side were on top throughout but to their credit the Bridge girls never gave up. They now need to step up on training and performance if they are to avoid relegation to the third division. Full attendance is required at training on Tuesday evening at 7.00pm

B Team

Silverbridge 3-10 Clann Eireann 1-10

The B team finally got their all county league under way having to travel to Clann Eireann on Wednesday night. Although under strength due to the Intermediate Championship on Sunday, the spirit was good in the squad as they made the long journey to Lurgan. Early scores we traded, with C Traynor, J Campbell, N Quinn and B Campbell getting a point each. It was minor player Sean Murphy who ended the half top scorer, putting 1-1 on the board. The half finished 1-5 apiece. It was now the turn of another minor Paul Mc Namee to get into the scoring act with a tally of 2-1, and helped out by N Traynor, S Murphy and T Mallie(0-2). The game finished Silverbridge 3-10, Clann Eireann 1-10. Rory and Gary were quick to heap praise on the defence, who once again stood strong throughout. The young and old proved a winning combination in midfield as Jarlath Burns and Sean Murphy dominated their quarter with great performances from all the minor players.
