Senior Team

Silverbridge 1-10 Granemore 0-14

The Seniors travelled to Granemore on Sunday and were beaten by a point despite having a four point lead at half time. They displayed great football in the first half with a goal from Liam Campbell giving them a comfortable lead. However, Granemore fought back in the second half scoring nine points in all and with the Bridge losing a man in the final minutes of the game they were unable to claw back the deficit.

Now that we are at the end of the season it is important to acknowledge the hard work that players, managers, and back room staff put into the Senior team. It was by no means an easy year when a lot of players emigrated at the start of the season and a lot of others suffered from injuries and it is a credit to all those who persevered and showed true dedication until the end. Go raimh maith agaibh!

Peter Keeley Cup/Kevin Hearty Shield

There was a great turnout for the Minor 7's Tournament on Saturday. Teams from the Ulster Counties took part in what is hoped to be an annual tournament in honour of two great Gaels from Silverbridge, Peter Keeley and Kevin Hearty. Kilcoo were the winners of the Peter Keeley Cup and our neighbours St Patricks of Cullyhanna won the Kevin Hearty Shield. A word of thanks must go to Peter Murphy who organised the event and who put such great work into it. Also thanks to all the teams who took part, everyone who helped out on the day and to the spectators who turned up to see the talent of these young players. It must be said that it is great that such an event has now been established to honour two great men who loved their club and who helped make it the wonderful place it is today for the community and beyond.

Gaelic Go Start

Gaelic Go Start continues on Sunday mornings. Parents are urged to be there at 10am to help set up for a 10.45 start and to enable children to be teamed with a suitable partner to help make the circuit more enjoyable. This is a well worth while activity and is more geared towards 4-8 year olds. Please remember to take a drink along for your child.

Under 12 Girls

The Under 12 Girls ended their training season this year with a trip to the cinema on Wednesday night to celebrate. The girls had a great night out and it is a credit to Celia, Kyra and Siobhan who gave up their free time all year to train the girls. They have a big year to look forward to when training starts again in February when the team will be taking part in the league. Well done to everyone involved- trainers, players and parents.
