Senior Match Report

Sunday past was the Seniors opening game to the ACFL Division 2 against Tir na Nog. Silverbridge started off the stronger team by taking the opening 3 scores of the game well kicked by Ciaran Conlon and two from Captain Damien McCann who led by example.  At half time the score was 6 – 3 to Silverbridge.  The second half started off strong again for the Bridge with Eugene Burns scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes and with our lads maintaining most of the ball possession.  With six minutes into injury time Tir na nOg stole a goal in the last kick of the game. This was a disappointing result for the Bridge team who gelled well together and should have won the game.  Final result 1.8 to both sides.  Team: M Reel, O Hearty, P Reel, A Mallie, S Murphy, C Reel, B Bellew, R Hamill, A Hearty 1 point, N Treanor, L Campbell, C McAvoy 1 point, C Conlon 1 point, D McCann 5 points, E Byrne 1 Goal.  Subs: At half time G McGarvey replaced R Hamill. P Carragher replaced N Treanor. B Bryne replaced C Conlon. R Crummy replaced G McGarvey.
