Football

Ladies (Silverbridge 3-11; Eire Óg 0-3)

The senior ladies travelled to Eire Óg last Saturday and yet again produced some strong, attacking, competitive football. A key factor to their continued success is undoubtedly the unrelenting hard work of each member of the team from start to finish. Well done and we look forward to more of the same against Pearse Ógs next Saturday.

U16 ladies – training as usual - new members always welcome.

Seniors:

The third league match last Wednesday against Tir na nÓg turned out to be a hard fought game that never really got off the ground. Despite losing by 2 points it is important to keep focused and look ahead to the next encounter with greater confidence and continued commitment.

Minors - Last Monday 25th April the Minors travelled to St Pat’s with high hopes of an outcome similar to the previous week. However the overall performance was disappointing and lacked consistency. It is clear that this squad of players can get the right results when it wants to so full commitment at all times is a key ingredient that we look forward to seeing at our next encounter on Mon 2nd  May at home to Keady

Under 8 – Training for boys and girls continues on Sundays at 11am. Remember to bring a drink and suitable gear for the weather

U10 Boys & Girls -The U10's had their first game of the 2011 season with a challenge match against St. Patrick's on Wednesday evening last. As this was the first game under new management all players were given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, and the management were very impressed with the commitment of all the players who put in a huge effort all round.

Training will be on Sunday morning 11am – 12.15pm.  Please bring clothing suitable for the weather and a bottle of water.

Reminder: Could all parents return club registration forms to team management next Sunday.

Under 12 Boys –Training now on Wednesdays @ 7pm

Under 12 Girls - training continues on Wednesdays 6.30pm - 7.30pm.

Under 14 – Last Tuesday 26 April we played a strong Crossmaglen team and despite a big effort all round we were not able to make a good enough impression. Regular training as the season progresses will make a big difference to our overall performance and get more scores on the score sheet so keep up the good work. Next match on Tuesday 3rd May at home to Dromintee. Training as usual.

Under 16 – (Silverbridge 1-7; Shane O’Neills 0-10  )

Last Thursday Silverbridge  travelled to Camlough for its third League match.

They had a tough contest, starting the game well and hitting the crossbar on 2 occasions. At half time they had a 3 point lead (0-4; 0-1) however Shane O'Neills began the second half well and were 2 points ahead in the dying stages. Ciaran Mulholland netted a goal which put the 'Bridge one point ahead however 'Shanes' went straight down the pitch and scored. In the end the points were shared which was a fair reflection of the game. Paddy Reel sustained an injury and was replaced by Miceal Connolly . All round a very good performance.
