FOOTBALL
U16 ladies – Last Monday 26th September the girls played away to Ballyhagan. The Davitts started the stronger side and dominated for some of the first half. The ‘bridge girls however came back fighting in the second half in some intense point for point exchanges but despite their efforts Ballyhegan had a goal advantage at the final whistle. The girls and management have put in such a huge effort this year winning the League on points but despite this success it wasn’t our day in the final.
SENIOR LADIES – Still awaiting a date and venue for the Division 3 League Final against Tullysarron.Training as usual.

‘Gaelic Go Start’ has now finished for this year. We would like to sincerely thank and congratulate Kevin, Jim and all those parents and volunteers who gave their time so generously throughout the year as well as the young athletes who put in so much hard work. Very well done to all concerned.

MINORS –Training on Monday @ 7.30pm
Under 16 Boys – The League Final against Dromintee took place last Saturday in Crossmaglen Rangers. A very strong start by both teams with some very skilful football and impressive tackling. However two goals in quick succession for Dromintee – the second from a penalty – opened up a lead that didn’t necessarily reflect the run of play at that point and buoyed up confidence in the Dromintee camp. Despite battling very hard, Silverbridge were unable to bridge the gap – congratulations to Dromintee on their win.
Michael Donnelly Cup
The annual Michael Donnelly Tournament took place last Sunday in Keeley Park. The Tournament was set up in memory of Silverbridge player Michael Donnelly who was just 14 years old when he was shot dead on 19 December 1975. Under 10 and under 12 boys and girls took part in the competition which was played in a very competitive and sporting fashion. The eventual winners were presented with the Michael Donnelly Cup by Rory Donnelly and his son Aaron.
