FOOTBALLPlease note that all our football pitches are now closed until further notice.Congratulations to all the boys and girls whose terrific efforts all year were recognised at our Underage Presentation last Sunday afternoon. It has been a very busy year and a lot of hard work and progress has been made by all the teams. These young people are the future of our Club and have been very fortunate to have had the guidance of a very dedicated group of managers and mentors who have generously volunteered their time and expertise throughout the season. We would like to recognise their huge efforts and sincerely thank them for their commitment to the youth of Silverbridge Harps.SCÓR NA NÓG 2012Firstly we would like to congratulate the following SCÓR NA NÓG 2012 entrants who won THE COUNTY STAGE OF THE COMPETITION on Sunday 27th November in St Catherine’s College, Armagh:Cathal McKeown, Eileen Muckian, Emma Martin (Bailéad Ghrúpa Ballad Group) and Peter Reel, Paul McKeever & Jamie Murphy (Tráth na gCeist Question Time). Our other four county finalists (recitation, solo singing, céilí dancing & instrumental music) all performed exceptionally well and just missed out on the night. Very well done to everyone for taking part and for representing your club so well. The Ulster Semi Final of Scór na nÓg took place last Saturday 3rd December in Clontibret and unfortunately our two county representatives in the Ballad Group and Quiz also narrowly missed out. All our Scór na nÓg participants this year have done us proud by showcasing their many talents in various areas of Irish culture and we thank them very sincerely for all efforts on behalf of Silverbridge Harps. A big thankyou as well to their mentors who have volunteered their time to work with these young people over the past number of months – go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir!CONGRATULATIONS!Congratulations to Crossmaglen Rangers on their historic win in the Ulster Club Championship last week – a unique achievement and well done to everyone involved.LOTTOOur club lotto is a vital source of financial support particularly in the current very difficult economic climate. We have a core group of Lotto sellers who have been continually promoting the Lotto but they need help. Can you do one of the following: Sell a book of either 5 or 10 tickets every week in your street/park/road/area 2. Buy a Lotto ticket every week? The continuation of services primarily to the youth of our club depends on continual fundraising and support from its members and the wider community. We would ask you to give this request very serious consideration and if you can help out in any way, please contact me at one of the numbers below.
